How did you get into Pilates?
I've always been into fitness, but one area that I couldn't "crack" for the longest time was core engagement. I found myself overcompensating a lot in my resistance-based workouts - leading to pain and tension in my joints. I started doing Pilates as a way to supplement my other types of workouts, but soon fell in love with its focus on precision, alignment and mindful activation of the deep core muscles.

What do you love about it?
Despite the intimidating looking equipment, I've found Pilates to be one of the most accessible forms of fitness out there. I love how there's something for everyone when it comes to Pilates, no matter your age, size and fitness level!

Why did you become an instructor?
I hope to show how Pilates can benefit everyone, and how a workout focusing on alignment and precision need not be boring. And I also hope to cultivate a safe space for people of all fitness levels to learn and grow together!

What do you want clients to leave your class feeling?
Like they've learnt something new, and also just feeling good about showing up for themselves and dedicating the hour to their body and mind.

Do you prefer fitness or technical classes?
I see a place for both types of classes in a balanced fitness regime, so I can't say I prefer any over the other - I love them both!

What makes your class sweaty?
Holds, pulses, and a focus on deep stabiliser muscles.

Favourite recipe to cook?
My "Chapalang" Curry - made with a base recipe I learnt from my mother-in-law, plus whatever is left in my fridge (hence the name)!

Describe your teaching style in five words.
Mindful, inclusive, fun, challenging, and vibe-y!
