How did you get into Pilates?
I started Pilates to improve my posture and strengthen my core - especially because I have scoliosis. I also wanted to become better at doing some poses in yoga, which requires more strength that Pilates helped with.
I love that Pilates is a low-impact workout yet highly effective in strengthening your body. There's also a lot of focus on alignment, slow and controlled movement, and mind-body connection which I think is SUPER important - we want to move our body in the right ways that don't cause injuries!
What makes your class unique?
I enjoy engaging with my clients by paying lots of attention to their alignment, hands-on adjustments and just fun banter before and after class. As someone who is also a yogi, I also love some good stretches and balancing exercises and I hope you will too!
What do you want clients to leave your class feeling?
Energised, being more aware of their own body, stronger every class! Expect lots of slow movements, holds and pulses.
Favourite workout other than Pilates?
Yoga for its spiritual aspect. I also swim for cardiovascular health, which was recommended over running because of my scoliosis.
Favourite post or pre workout ritual?Electrolyte drink before, cold plunge after workout.
