Chermaine H.

Off Duty Pilates - Instructor

What is your approach to teaching Pilates?
My approach to teaching Pilates focuses on precise, controlled movements while offering modifications for each individual, because every body is different. I truly believe Pilates is for everyone, and everyone should be able to experience its benefits for both body and mind.

What do you focus on most in your classes?
I focus on proper form and controlled, precise movements, helping clients engage the right muscles safely while still having fun and enjoying the class.

What can clients expect from your class?
Clients can expect a structured and purposeful session that helps them work toward more advanced movements. It’s not just about the burn—it’s about feeling strong, aligned, and accomplished.

What do you want clients to leave your class feeling?
I want clients to leave feeling taller, lighter, and more confident in their bodies. I hope they move with greater ease, feel proud of what they’ve achieved, and feel excited to continue progressing in their next class.

What’s something you often emphasise in class?
I often emphasise quality over quantity. I encourage clients not to simply go through the motions and call it a workout, but to move with intention and control.

Outside the studio, what keeps you feeling your best?
Running, a good cup of coffee, a massage, and a little quiet time help me recharge. As a mum of twins, these moments keep me grounded, energised, and fully present, both in life and in class.

What’s a value or mindset you try to live by?
I try to approach life and my teaching with kindness, gentleness, and grace. I aim to reflect patience and love in how I guide others, and I try to carry those same values into how I care for my family, my friends, and how I treat myself.
