Valerie K.
Instructor
How did you get into Pilates?
I’ve dealt with chronic neck, shoulder, and lower back pain for most of my life due to scoliosis. I was always searching for a more natural and sustainable way to support my body—and get my daily movement in too. From my very first Pilates class, I felt stretched, relaxed, and deeply accomplished. It was the first time movement felt like a gift and not a chore!
What do you love about Pilates?
Pilates feels like magic for your body - it reconnects you to muscles you didn’t even know existed! I love how it’s both gentle and fierce; it strengthens from the inside out, leaving you feeling taller, more powerful, and totally in tune with yourself.
Why did you become an instructor?
I want to share the joy, confidence, and inner strength Pilates has given me, and in turn, help clients feel empowered in their bodies while watching them surprise themselves with what they’re capable of.
What makes your class unique?
I bring a mix of classical Pilates techniques with modern twists to keep every session exciting.
What do you want your clients to leave your class feeling?
Energised, confident, and like they just gave themselves the biggest hug from the inside out. A little taller, a little sweatier, and a whole lot stronger.
Do you prefer fitness or technical classes?
I love a balance of both—strong foundations make the spicy stuff even more effective!
Favourite pre or post workout ritual?
Before a workout, I like to tune into music that matches my mood to get in the right headspace. Lately, I’ve been adding sauna and ice bath sessions after workouts to speed up muscle recovery and feel refreshed.
